Partner Fares Participates in KSA's Model of Care Conference

The annual Saudi Model of Care conference last February showcased metrics and insights related to the ICHOM Maternity set implementation in the Kingdom.

Our implementation partner @Capadev LLP represented by @Fares A. Saade shared data and insights in the opening panel on the transition to value-based healthcare and payment reforms based on their multi-site implementations:

– Wide and unwarranted variations in c-section rates across hospitals
– The need for systematic measurement of symptoms in particular for depression and incontinence, and how referral pathways can make a difference in treatments, as shown in some of the participating hospitals
– The link between the utilization of PROMs and the reduction of complications and waste
– The importance of clinicians’ engagement upstream in patient pathways and bundled services design, as a precursor to the structuring of workable bundled payment models
– The need to ensure a robust baseline of outcomes measurements data is in place before the transition to payment models

This panel was moderate by Dr. Shadi Alkhayyat from the Jeddah cluster, with leaders from EMC, Mass General and CNHI.
